  1. Ahh, The Troggs. We lost Bill Oddie this week of The Goodies. One of the best (parody) versions of Wild Thing was taken from a Goodies episode where the wannabe popstars dressed as morphed-into-one The Rubettes, Alvin Stardust and Lynsey De Paul – B side to Nappy Love, 1975 hit. Bill or Tim sing: “Hold me! Tight! ” (vocal switches to struggling vocal) “Not…Quite…That….Tight!” Still funny. That Wet Wet Wet cover stopped me going to see the film. Still never seen it, I still avoid the song… 🙂

Rock Your Baby still a KC classic, and Madonna has still got it, about to drop a Madonna/Kylie version of the best track off Confessions II, Love Sensation. I’m 8 months older than Her Madgeness and was there buying Holiday in 1984…but even I wouldnt have given credit to the notion that a pensioner doing good dance music could ever be a thing. And power to her biting back on ageism against female pop stars. They don’t have to become Vera Lynn…! Hooray!

    • I for one am excited to hear the Madonna/Kylie remix, though I still wish they’d do an original song together. I guess Cher is the only ‘modern’ female popstar that you can date to before Madonna, but it’s debatable that even Cher would have stayed so young and danced had Madge not been around.
